I [b]must[/m] have screwed something up with this one. I uploaded both the cgi fils into my cgi-bin and chmodded them right. I think I'm not clear on just where I need to put the script. The file says this...
I put the script following that in the header field of my board and the link script in the footer for the sake of testing it. When I clicked on the link I got the small window to pop up except it had my 404 error page in it. What did I do wrong? I'm probably just misunderstanding the instructions. Oh well.

That's what I thought was wrong with the code itself but I'm still not quite sure where to put it. (Although since I got the 404 error after putting it in the header I figure that's where it goes.) Thanks!

So I got the wordlets installed no problem but I still get a compilation error when I click the ID Switcher link.

Is there something in the id_switch.cgi file I need to change also? Or is it because I'm trying to put the script part into a header with other stuff in it as well?

I got the same problem (again) as Ethan....

Where's the general Board header?
when I click on the link to switch, it asks me for my user name and password, and when I clicked ok, it sais something about "&main::verify_id" and how its undefinable in the id_switcher.cgi or whatever..

I do know that the "general board header" can be found in your styles templates in the control panel.

Figured I'd just edit this into my old message so as not to seem like TOO much of a pest. I've perused the cgi file and from what I can tell (which isn't much) there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it. I also can't immediatly see anything wrong with the script that gets pasted in the header. I'm at a loss. Can anyone help?

After sending this I had another thought. Could this be because I have my members file outside of the site root for security? Hmmm...

I doubt it Ethan, I have the same problem as you and mine aren't outside of the root directory....

You're right about that. The members directory had no effect. I think it must be something wrong with the CGI file since the only thing the script in the header does is open the window the switcher is supposed to appear in and that works. My guess is that I'm somehow missing one of the required files somewhere. I'll keep at it until I figure it out!! (Or Borg finally checks this board and helps us out. :D)

Hey radiokilla! I was finally able to telnet to my server so I could test the id_switch script. This is the information I got when I did...

Not enough arguments for mkdir at id_switch.cgi line 45, near ""$vars_config{MembersPath}/identities";"

I haven't looked since doing this but I bet there's a missing "}" or something like that. I'll check it tomorrow.

Here's what I'm about to try...
I'm going to comment out the offending lines (with a "#" in front of them) then make the directory "identities" myself and chmod it to 777. That should work.

IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just comment out this line near the begining of the id_switch.cgi file by putting a # in front of it.
Then create the identities directory as a subdirectory of members and chmod it 777. You're all set!

(The first time I clicked it I got an error but I closed the window and tried again and it worked! YAY!!!

Now if I can just get the Anchor Hack to work.
