I tried to install the avatar hack to my ubb6. I went through it twice and had the same problems. The first problem is that my control panel stops working. The second problem is that on my register page at the top there is a big black box. Very big. and it has 3 links that go to nowhere in it.
I've since restored everything to its original state and I'm gonna try to do it again. I suppose my problem may be that I'm running 6.04d.
Actually I've tried to install a bunch of hacks and not one has worked. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

You are most likely installing them incorrectly. I'd double check my modifications to make sure they are in the right place.

you don't suppose its something to do with 6.04d do you? The mods don't say explicitly that they work on 6.04d, but I haven't seen a version that does.
I'm followed the steps word for word and even got them partially working.
