there is something I want to know. I have attempted to apply many hacks and many have failed and seriously messed up my forum because I rarely make backups (which I know I should) but when in a hack it tells you to 'Enter this directly after' what does this mean?...Directly below i.e by pressing enter then inserting the correct text?. or 'Insert this above' does this mean if there is a space above insert the text there?. if you know what I mean?...

under it add: $foo2
you'd find $foo then add $foo2 right under it. Same with above.

ok I got that problem fixed. but the online.gif file doesnt show up....I uploaded it to the non-cgi dir.

In Perl, spaces are really just spaces. They don't affect the way the program works or anything. So you can have a billion spaces in between each line and it would work the same way.
