ok, board is up and running...2 questions:

1) How do I make people members without them reaching the min # of posts? I'm thinking i've missed something on the control panel...I need to do this without ftp access too...can it be done?

2) How can I let megamods have more access to the control panel? They need to be able to delete members when admin aren't around...

1) Go to CP->Primary Setting->Misc. Setting, change "Minimum Number of Messages For Full Member Status" to zero

2) This will require code hacking.

Tx freeTV, but how can I then make them members manually? This has to be done when they have had a nomination by another member to become a member (like a gentlemens club, hehe). The min # of posts is alreasy set to 0 but how can I now make ppl members b hand without ftp access?

you could just install the custom titles/rankings hack. then basically turn off the rankings and manually give out titles once your users have acheived enough status. although that doesn't sound like a very fun message board.
