If you place an "& l t" (<) in the subject line of a new post you can't edit or delete the topic. This apparently affects all versions of UBB 5.
I'd love a hack that either screens these characters out of the subject or fixes the edit and delete routines to account for it.

why not update to UBB 6 i do not think many if any people are still doing them for UBB 5
