I have a 2 step registration process, the first step a user fills out a form which sends data to my email address, then the cgi script gives them the URL to join on my forums.
What I would like to do is have a routine I could call (in my cgi script that mails me the data from the first form) to check if a username is already being used by the UBB Databse. Any idea's on how this could be done?

No Idea. I'd guess you would need to add some code to the subroute in ubbmisc where they have the stuff about the email they send, although I'm not sure.

I think I've worked it out. I've found where in ubbmisc and ubb_library it checks for an existing username, Im going to try and just use the same code, modified to suit my needs. Hope it works
