Hi guys. I made a few errors in a poll, unfortunately - can you edit it somehow? I've tried hacking into the 4.data in "poll" directory, but wont let me upload. Also, why does the poll cgi say "Edit Poll -- Edit a poll. You can now rig a poll and change the data, hehe. Maybe later!" Did the aothor forget to add that function? Or have i missed something?

Use the edit poll option in the admin.cgi file.

But L Dexter, i cant - in the poll admin.cgi, there are links on the left - "Add poll", "delete poll", etc - but in I have only bold letters and no URl for "Edit poll" and this is what I get - "Edit Poll -- Edit a poll. You can now rig a poll and change the data, hehe. Maybe later!" Dont you get that?

Well why don't you just close the poll with the mistake and create the poll again.

Correct. As far as I kow the edit feature never made it to the release. Maybe someday I can work on it...but I couldn't even begin to explain how far BACK the burner is that holds this item!!

What I've done is basically this. If you add a poll it gets inserted into your board main page, right? (Something we fixed days ago ) So, the problem is that if youmake a mistake it shows up "live". What I did was I installed the "Toggle hack" that lets you basically toggle things from the control panel. I turn the Ultimate feature off....enter my poll info and check it out as a stand alone, then when I'm sure it is OK I re-enable it in Ultimate via the CP.

OK, so it is kinda PITA!! Since it IS such a PITA...I strive NOT to make mistakes!! LOL

Thats a good idea. The poll has to be the most wanted supported hack. I don't know why but it's just like that. What that hack needs is a FAQ. But I don't know why atom911 didn't make the edit poll since I think thats pretty inportant in the hack.
