Hi all, I am usign 5.45a and I would like to know if there is a hack to limit the number of characters that can be used for each new user that registers and selects a user name. Thanks in advance.
I see the following lines in register_lib.pl in 5.47e :
User Name*
I am not very familiar with HTML. I see two variables, SIZE and MAXLENGTH. Which one takes precedence and which one should I change? I am a bit confused
SIZE is how big the box looks on the screen and MAXLENGTH is the maximum number of character inputs allowed. You can leave the size=25 and set the maxlength to whatever u want
Thanks for the reply. What will happen to the previously registered users with char. > 25? Also, is the same routine (or code) used to register < 13 age users ? Or do I have to edit that somewhere else? Thanks.
It should only affect new user registrations, any type, < or > 13 years, shouldnt matter as the same chunk of code is used. If you are unsure go through the process of adding a user under the age of 13, then when the screen is shown that allows a username, view the source and see what the maxlength is, then do the same for over 13 years.
