Has anyone created a hack for a topic to get 'pinned' to the top of the forum at all times? Then have the ability to be 'unpinned' at any time?

THis would have the topic stay at the top of the forum at all times. Regardless if another topic has been posted.

Thanx,
shorty

Check the V5 database for "Sticky Threads"! I'll go have a look now as well...

Heads up on the Sticky Thread hack. It is documented incorrectly and will cause an error when you attempt to run it.

You will come across this part of the installation, in which you are told to paste the below code in (parts of the above code I removed, to save posting space). This will be done in UBB_LIBRARY2.PL:

Code
code:

On the last line, add another } so it looks like this:

Code
code:

It was the only error I found when putting this together and without it, the Sticky Thread hack will not work.

Thanks p2k! I edited your post so it would fit the page nicely.

neuro, can you confirm this....not that you can't be trusted p2k ( smile ), it makes sense to just have it verified before the docs are updated. I'd do it but I don't have it installed, though I will have a look at the code. smile

Again, THANKS!

LATE ADD: OK, I found the code you are talking about...it does NOT call for that in ubb_library2.pl...it calls for that to be added to ubb_library.pl and initial findings concur with the addition of the final "close" bracket. Well done!
