Okay. Very simple question. And hit me up with a simple answer please, because I'm not quite 100% geek-a-fied yet with all the coding know how.

I set up a UBB 6.05 board with a few hacks. (Who's Online, Avatar, and Custom Rank.)

Will I be able to install UBB 6.1 over my hacked UBB 6.05? Or am I screwed do to the modifications I've made in the code?

Hi Clarke,

You can use the upgrade package from 6.1 and follow the instructions, You wil have to re hack all the mods do.

It is importend to bumb the "maxmem field" in your 'ubb_lib_files.cgi' because of the hacks.

change it to:

my $maxmemfields = 55; #total fields permitted in member file

and you should be alright

Is the "maxmem field" adjustment only needed if we used a hack that added fields to the profile?

Would I be correct in assuming that the 4 optional fields that came standard with 6.05 are not considered "adding fields"?

Ohh yeah you are right August, I thougt that the Avatar hack did add a extra field but it does not.

So that means that you can update without problems Clark. Just rehack after the update to get the mods back

I have an unrelated question regarding upgrading from 6.0 to 6.1.

I upgraded two days ago and everything is working fine except for several errors that I am getting. I was hoping someone could help me.

1) The UBB code for the QUOTE is messed up. When it displays a quote, it used to read quote: and then the quote separated by two horizontal lines. Now, we only get the colon without the word quote.

2) Under the "My Profile" section, the Private Message section is also messed up.

Instead of reading:

Incoming Private Messages: 0
Sent Private Messages: 0

We only get the following:

: 0
: 0

3) In the same section, the button at the bottom should read:

Delete checked messages

But we don't have any text there.

Which files should I open to fix these errors?
