I've tested and used the Avatar hack that exists.

What I'm looking for, and I haven't found, is to have avatars on a UBB board (6.1.0.2) but to allow the users to link to their own picture. Maybe even be controlled in size by the cp.cgi script so the end user can't get outta hand with their own avatar. Something respectable like 65x65.

I just want the users to be able to link to their own locally stored .gif or .jpg they use for their avatar.

It is not the best hack in the world, but it works.

Well I used the Avatar hack from Qasic (I've used it before on UBB 6.05)

But what I'm looking for is the ability for the end-user to manipulate their profile to point to their own locally stored Avatar... is this possible.

Is this option in the Qasic Avatar Hack and I just missed it?

Are you saying that you installed a UBB 5 hack and just made that subtle little change?

What I did was take the picture field that is already in the UBB6 profile and use that as the image for under the name.

I do not know if the avatar hack uses the same profile field or not.

If you need the 1 by 1 transparant gif I can give it to you. also this hack makes the images 100 by 100 no mater their size. So it will still take time to load large files,it just displays them at 100 by 100. So I tell all my people to make the images that size to begin with. You will also want to go to the wordlets in the control panel and change the wording for the picture part of the profile.

your welcome. It's not thebest hack in the world and it is based on a 6.0 hack by someone I do not recal who. But it does work.

Well...i have the custom font hack on field 17, 18 and 19 and the avatar hack itself on 20. I have 4 extra customfields; 5 - 8

How can i make this work???

I do not know how to get it to work in conction with the avatar hack. This one is used in place of it.
