Changing the copyright image?

I'm a STRONG supporter of keeping all copyrights legal, and giving due credit to those who make this wonderful program. However, I would like to spice up the current Infopop copyright logo. I have every intention of keeping all the same information in there, I just want to match it better to my site.

My question is: Is this legal, ethical, or serioulsy frowned upon? I don't want to do anything that will upset anyone...

I think you'll get more responses in the Infopop Community Forums, but I believe they agree if you only change the textcolor, and I am not sure about that either.
