Hello, I have looked for the template "public_topic_page.pl" and am not able to find this? Does it get generated by the board a tsome point, or could it be named something different?
I have even looked through the zip file and nothing...

Hi, I'm having problems. I really don't know much about CGI scripting so I probably sound dumb, but it doesn't show up. Am I supposed to have the pictures saved somewhere? I triple checked the text and it seems fine, I am not getting any errors, but the ICQ/AIM signs don't show up.

1. Are the links showing up at least? Broken is fine, that's a good thing!
You will want to make sure you have the graphic images in the ubb image diretory. Not sure how yer icq is setup, but the image on mine is dependant on the icq server. Goto mine and right click on the image and check out the properties.
Hope this helps, Im not the most technical, so I hope the instructions are clear enough.

I had to remove this line from the hack code It was showing two ICQ icons I guess it has to do with the way your Icq is set up ## ##

Ok... I found a typo in the script, it says http://wwp.mirabilis.com/$this_icq instead of http://www.mirabilis.com/$this_icq . I changed that, uploaded the two images, and the AIM part works flawlessly. The ICQ part however is screwed up, instead of he flower image it gives me out the following html code: and then the ICQ image. I have no idea whatsoever why it happens. I tried fixing it and it nothing works. Any help?

ok I fixed it you should add:
chomp ($this_icq);
then it works, at least for me.

Its not a typo. http://wwp.mirabilis.com/$this_icq is correct.

You forgot to add the PM icon to the row of icons. The new final line should look like this:

I noticed that as well, although I thought it was something I had done wrong, so I corrected it. I still have a problem with the AIM field though...
I get the following URL (404) when clicking on the AIM logo by someone's post...
aim:goim?screenname=whoever&message=Hi.+Are+you+there?
Is this because I don't have AIM installed... Because I would think there would at least be a default page for those who don't if this is the case.

You have to have aim for it to work Thats why you only get the icon if you have it listed in profile.....

This ran great on beta 8.0. Beta 8.1 is another story. I can't seem to get it to work at all. Has anyone tried on this new beta yet??

I had this hack installed when UBB 6 came out, and have updated to the newest beta as of now (8.1), and from what I can tell it does work... What exactly isn't happening on yours?

You might want to look at your code again because Im at 8.1 and It still works fine outside of ICQ being slower than Hexx But what else is new.

Well, mine seems to work, but doesn't. Nothing ever shows up where the icq/aim logos would be. It's like the thing is not running the code that is inserted under the "topic_top". Either that, or it's like it's clearing the $this_icq and $this_aim. I've tested to make sure that the changes were actually being picked up. (I added a word after the $this_aim. I cleared the cache, and reloaded. No ICQ/AIM, but I get the word displayed.) So I know that the cache is clearing, and the new page is loading. Unfortunately, it isn't showing the other stuff..

Not that it'll help, but there's a link below. It looks like it's a stock installation. The other thing that I tried, was to replace the "$this_icq $this_aim" with "$user_profile[13] $user_profile[22]" and it displayed the UIN/AIM screen name. http://www.clanreact.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi
