i believe he's asking (and if he's not, i am :)) how you got the graphic gradient behind the title bar for your tables (like, the blue bar, on the tables of this site).
do you hack the code, like ubb v5's, or is there an easier way, to just list the graphic, say, in the control panel?

Thanks Sirox but I think I've worked it out for myself. I don't know if it's all correct but I read a thread somewhere else on this board and somebody said just add background="$vars_config[NonCGIURL}/yourgif.gif" to some of the tags in public_forum_summary.pl
I noticed the original poster of the hack had removed it! 
[ Since posting this I have removed the hack from our board - too many complaints from the members.  Personally I thaught it was pretty cool. ]

Huh, due the fact that the download of the File 'customback.txt' doesn't work I had a quick look at public_forum_summary.pl and it's so easy, to add a background-picture - but please use fixed width/height-data for the /table so no graphical mismatch should occur:

And add your specific tr-width/height according to the seize of the sliced pictures you'd like to use. Upload background_forumumber.gif (or maybe you'd like to use jpgs) to your userbin/ubb (or you might create a new subdirectory, don't forget to change it in the source mentioned above) and that's it... have fun,

Bye the way, I've seen some sort of bg-image-Boards (v5/b6) now and most of them seem to use for each a completely different picture: you might have a look how nice it looks if you use one large picture and 'slice' it: because our main intention is music i took a picture from my 1210-turntable, sliced it and the you might like to have a look at it: http://213.155.69.24/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi
...I didn't use the hack.txt-file, just modified it like mentioned above within a minute. it's a simple but quite impressive 'hack' which helps to make your board really unique *G*

2sifuhall, i'm not able to explain why, but maybe because a) it looked terrible ? b) the traffic was too big because of the pictures? c) problems occurred because of non-static width/height of the table/trs ? well .. i do like our bg.pictures, they're still in use and i guess they'll be there for the next months > technoforum.de regards, chris [ April 05, 2001: Message edited by: technoforum.de ]

I took them off of my board because I think that they didn't match, but I am slicing a picture of a CS model, and I think that will work much better

Wow, since I switched to VBB I haven't been here lately, but I if you want it here it is: Now create your pictures, and name them forum1.gif for your first forum, forum2.gif for the second one and so on. If you want to use the same picture for each than instead of And name the one picture forumback.gif. Upload the pictures to your Noncgi folder, and clear the cache, and voila!
