NAME: Latest Topics ASP

DESCRIPTION: An ultra-light weight fast script that will allow you to display the latest threads on your message board on your main page etc. Version .60 (d)

REQUIREMENTS: Server that supports ASP 3.0 or 2.0 (should work although not tested) and UBB 6.0 and above.

NOTE: This is not a hack it requires no modification to the UBB source code and simply interfaces with the text database files of UBB.

Fixed some slight problems in the documentation.

we use the script on our site and it rocks. its very easy to to setup, and keeps us all informed of new posts. visit CsWAV and take a look at it

This so easy to accomplish the latest topics hack. All you do is strip out the html of your template so it just posts the basic data. Then call it via ssi to your front page. You will have to tweak the HTML to mathc your scheme. Only problem is the Cinderella effect, It clears at midnight.

Your forget the fact that on NT server SSI does not work like it does on Unix/Linux servers. You can't use querystrings in SSI and does not execute CGI code like it does on unix/linux.

Can you do it in Perl instead? :rolleyes: (It would be logical cause UBB is perl script)

Its a possibility right now I am a php programmer as my main job. If I get a free weekend I will grab a perl book and port it over to perl

Since CrimsonBane's file "cannot be displayed", heres one:
