ok by popular demand, here it is.

this version includes the feature "thread Bump" in addition to sticky threads. thread bump (previously a seperate hack) allows you to temporarily bump a thread to the top of the listing - it will act as if you replied to it, but no dates on it will actually change.

i just updated the file to work with wordlets. as soon as we have the 2 default graphics ill update it again with them and the ability to change them through the styles Control panel.

im not sure a "temporary bump" option will be coming soon, as it is looking to be a challenge. we'll see.

zip doesn't work.. when i try to open my zip file it says it isnt a valid zip archive

i just tested. works fine for me. anyone else have problems?

Thanks, I just installed it but it says Sticky: beside my topic name.....

Is there a way to change that? Have an image instead or something?

ok, im totally confused...

i installed the hack earlier and it worked...

then i d/led the update, and i have no clue whats update and what to change and edit...

in future updates of the code, can you please add a section on what to update section...
include everything in that section instead of making another file (the vars_wordlets_install)...im sorta confused on that

ok, i know im totally confusing you, but this is what i did, when i tried to do version 2 of this code:

i opened the mods_wordlets_install file, and i changed everything it said to in that...

then i went back to the stickythreads6xx file, and i changed the vars_wordlets_mods.cgi file....

i uploaded them all and cleared my cache...

im not for sure whats wrong, but nothing its changed about it...do i have to install everything all over again??

btw, my boards a 6.04a

alright, i can edit 3 of my wordlets through my control panel, but even after i edit them they dont work...

i changed the title of the sticky thread to "BUMP" and it still says sticky

Hey I find do it yourself is about the best way to go as long as you have someone to help start you off

Ok everyone I just make images for mine for Bumping and De-Bumping and I must say they look pretty good!

Here is what I did to get images in mine:

SOMEONE PLEASE HLEP ME>>>........ i want this hack badly but the downlaod doesn't work for me when i download it.. it appears as a 473 byte zip file. and when i open it it says "Cannot Open File It does not appear to be a valid archive" help me please

Get winzip 8.x at www.winzip.com and open it...must be your compression program.

If you still can't open it then it must be because you're not downloading all of the file (your missing a peice before you download completes)

Try holding shirft+ clicking on the link or try using Getright to download, it can resume downloads. http://www.getright.com/

I don't want to post a new link because if the author updates that one and people are still getting the old one it might cause trouble.

ok once again has been updated, to upgrade take a look at the version number at the top of the file that you originally installed it from.
if the version is 1.1 then you will need to go through and do / redo the instructions for the following files:
ubb_lib_posting.cgi
ubb_topic_maint.cgi
ubb_forum.cgi
cp_vars_style.pl
cp_styles.cgi
vars_wordlets_mods.cgi

if you have version 1.2 do / redo the following:
ubb_lib_posting.cgi
cp_vars_style.pl
cp_styles.cgi
vars_wordlets_mods.cgi

current version is now 1.3

Kuzco - try now its a new zip. i made it useing powerarchiver, but i also tested it in winzip so im not sure what could be wrong. pm me if you still have problems and ill email it to you non-zipped.

ramprage - if you have the wordlets mods kit installed you should be able to edit the word sticky from the control panel. under the "Wordlets" tab there should be a modification wordlets option and the wordlet is in there. thanks for the images too man.

xXDaRoadie - hopefully my last post clears up some installation confusion. the mods devkit is a seperate (and awesome) hack that i used to get the wordlets in. if it really isnt working for some reason, you can always edit the file vars_wordlets_mods.cgi by hand to what you want them to say.

jordo: your welcome for the images but for some reason when I got to Control Panel and go to anything to do with Wordlets I get the following error:

I also have WhoisOnline hack and PM notify hacks installed.... Although I've never even touched the Wordlets feature on my board so I wouldn't know if they worked prior to all these hacks.

Ok never mind about my previous post I managed to get it working. I think when I did the whois online hack I didn't make sure that wordlets were working, I have resolved the issue wohooo!!

But I don't see where in wordlets that you can change Sticky: to Bump or whatever you like.... I guess I'll stick to the manual editing myself

Glad you like the new icons, prehaps give me your link so I can see them in action , i'd like that

ramprage - they should be at the top in the modifications wordlets. make sure you added the lines to vars_wordlets_mods.cgi. heres a picture to clarify:


as for updates in between versions.

1.2 added some bugfixes over 1.1 (required i would say) and wordlets.

1.3 added the pictures and the ability to change them through style settings in the CP. i would recommend keeping up to the current version (see my post above for specifics) as there will probably be 1-2 more versions as i streamline the code and in case any bugs pop up.

This hack doesn't work on my board. The image de-top and top images don't come up even when I set them in the styles. I cleared catche and everything. I'm on 6.04e and my url is http://www.ultanime.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi
