I am not liking the new post indicator gifs [Linked Image]

IMO they seem a bit gawdy.

I kinda like 'em, but think they should be a little smaller.

Or make the blue gem-like part of it a color other than blue...maybe red. Would stand out more because everything else is blue on the main listing page.

Tsk, tsk...they're not transparent either. [Linked Image]

I dont think they work either, they're always on for me, even on forums with no posts for days.

I'm sorry Allen. Maybe you'd prefer me to say how great they are and how they really enhance the front page.

I would call saying they are too big constructive. See? I've stated what i think is wrong with them. Sorry for having an opinion which doesn't fit.

come on now cal... you know that's not it... you didn't just say you didn't like them, you said they were childish.. not quite a constructive criticism...

like I said, check thradar's and jeologic's posts...

everyone has different tastes... some will like it, some won't... most don't care...

To me it just doesn't go with the site. It looks like it belongs at an RPG site for a game like "Dungeons and Dragons". I would expect something a bit more proffessional from a quality site like this. [Linked Image]

Well, I agree, they don't quite go with the site ... too tacky? Hehehe...

Anyway, some constructive criticism:

1.) As someone said, try reducing the size, and change the color of the gem in the middle to something apart from the main site layout (layout is blue, so the gem shouldn't be blue) so that it'll stand out a little.

2.) Maybe change the image itself? Usually rounded images are easier on the eyes than ones with angles and hard sides.

3.) Just use folder icons maybe? I knew you guys used that before on past layouts of UBBDEV and I kinda liked them [Linked Image]

Anywayz, that's it from me [Linked Image]

We are in the process of finding new images. Frankly, I would have been ok with InfoPop's new lightbulb images, but they didn't make them that "user friendly."

I'll take any suggestions or contributions that any of you may have.

**wavin' my arms** Me, Me.. I have a suggestion! How about pretty little angels or dainty little flowers? [Linked Image]

IMHO, I think a different color might be an enhance the appearance of the board a tad.

Whoa!! Go back to the diamond thingies for showing new posts. Those big blue orbs are scary! [Linked Image] Seriously, try a different color for the gem thing in the diamonds, like deep red or something. Even a green would look good.
