Nice hack, I have it installed on 6.04e and its working fine, but....
If I turn on the "show hits counter on summary page" - thingy, I get a problem with the right side of the tabel on News Fader 2 hack. Between the "Moderators" headline and the moderators namefield in the forumlisting on the summary page, I get only an empty square space on the right site of the fader. The newsfader will not fill the hole with of the forum summary page.
Any idea what this is, and how to solve the problem?
I want to upload an image to show you, but upload is disabled here. Neither I can give you an url, as I am on dynamic ip, and the board isnt ready to upload.
Where can I post an image for you to see what I mean?

Did you put the vars_wordlets.cgi in vars_wordlets_mods.cgi?? If so, in the following two files, change the instances of $vars_wordlets{count_on_click} to read $vars_wordlets_mods{count_on_click}.
Once you're done, you MUST reset your cache, in order to see the table headers. (Not in the instructions.)
If you did NOT add the vars_wordlets.cgi information in vars_wordlets_mods.cgi, then try just clearing your cache. That will probably fix it.
I installed who's online the newest version and it works fine but the there is no title for who's online at the top of the forum summary. Just has the names of who's online how do it get that title/link up there?
Also I installed the counter hack and it shows up but stays at zero. there is no title either at the top of the colum (hit's) or (veiws)? in the read me it says ... Go in the Control Panel - Maintenance - and generate the totalcounter
but when i go to maintenance it doesn't have that option there?
i think you have making something wrong.Controll your files with .pl. I think there is the error.And the other problem in the cp is there
############################################################################################################# # cp_common.pl open (note: at the end of the line you must find,there is different text (english or german. # ############################################################################################################# ######## #find :# ######## document.writeln("");
Dear e@sy! Many thanks for an excellent hack. I got it today from your site and set up for my (yet test) forum -ver6.05. Now everything looks to work perfect, but there was (it seems) a small bug. In your instructions for updating vars-wordlets.cgi, you recommend:
Quote
quote:
Please pay attention that after "generate the totalcounter" you put semicolon (;), while there must be simple comma (,). Before I have realized that I was getting an error in line 4 of that script, while trying to load cp.cgi. May I also recommend to change "generate the totalcounter" to "- Generate The Totalcounter". Just in order to keep the same style with CP
Again many thanks for so nice hack!!! Best regards, Evgen
On my board everything seems to display correctly, but my problem is the counters stay @-0-. I have went thru you included instructions thoughly, but have found no solution. Cache has been cleared many times, all permission triple checked. I am at a loss. Might you have any clues to what is wrong?
Ok, I went to your site and downloaded and installed your version for Who's Online 3.8 although I and using 3.7Qc, and it works. Thanks.
Now here is a petty question or two;
1. Is there a way to get the Summery to display the total hits for the forum? 2. On the forum page, the "Hit's" label is not there, but the column is there and seems to be working fine.
I am running UBB 6.05, the hit counter works! But now the UBB is not counting the replies, just the hits it has. I mean the replies box is still there, but it is just staying at the same number.
E@sy, I've got a few issues 8(... #1, I'm getting two hits now when I read a topic 8(.. But that's becuase I've went trough a few of your revisions on this one, and I think I can find that code after awhile....
2nd, I don't know if you have this error... But I move posts around alot, and it's reseting the forum total hits counter.... It's not doing it when I delete a thread, just move.... Did I miss something in v2.01? & any ideas on the double hit? .pl or .cgi?

require "$vars_config{CGIPath}/cp_counttotal.cgi"; &count_total("mes"); --------------------------------------------- In ubb_topic_maint.cgi (UBB version 6.05) there are 5 instances of: # clear cache You need to clarify which "instance" you are talking about...

Thanks a lot LK for that link..I downloaded that and looked at the instructions once again..The [print "$ThisHTML";] issue has been answered in this release.But there is no resolution to the(# clear cache) problem.
Below are my 5 instances in ubb_topic_maint: --------------------------------------------- open(FILE, ">$vars_config{NonCGIPath}/$exact_path/$in{t}.stick") || &StandardHTML('Could not open file for writing.'); print FILE "1"; close(FILE);
# clear cache --------------------------------------------- # get forum info my @this_forum = &GetForumRecord($in{f});
# clear cache --------------------------------------------- # unlink threads file in new forum unlink("$vars_config{NonCGIPath}/$exact_path/forum_$in{transfer_to}.threads");
# clear cache: --------------------------------------------- I assume the last one isn't it cuz of the colon after cache. But you can clearly see each instance is different. I just don't know which to use..Feel free to delete my first post in this thread..It no longer is an issue..Thanks again LK
