qasic,,, i cant delete the WOLBackup folder and the 1 file in it which is the ultimatebb.cgi?!
it gives me this error ( permission denied)

what should i do for this problem?

Hey Qasic a site I know is havin a prob with WOL 4.

Everything works well, but when you go to the CP all you see is the copyright wording but no options, How do we fix this?

every thing is fine now, i asked my webhosting company to delete it.. and they did.... i didnt know why i cant delete it, but every thing is fine now..

I install the hack.

Everything seemed to go OK.

One small problem...

It didn't do anything.

My board still functions fine.

I can see the files the hack and myself installed.

I go to the control panel and there is no option to do anything with Who's Online.

????

It's like I never installed it.

Am I missing something here?

I think it's the permissions on my

cp_whos_online.cgi
ubb_whos_online

etc.

They are set to 644

It won't let me change them to 755 or 777.
I can't delete them either.

What the hell ?!?!

Well I got all that sorted out.

My CP still does not show "Who's Online Settings"

And nothing has changed in the forum login.

Hmm .. seems as if the Who's Online templates were not installed. Run the install_templates option.

I just figured that out.

I fixed the cp_common.pl

That was kind of easy only needed one 'document.write' added to it.

I just tried to install templates again and it still didn't update the other 3 template files.

Is there any way you can tell me what to add to those files so I can just hack it myself??

Qasic I have tried installing the auto-install but it keeps stuffing up. It seems it can't do the 4th step of ultimatebb.cgi modification. It always says there is a error with this line. I dunno why..

for some strange reason, I was banned from qasic's site. It said that I was trying to attempt to hack into the site and now everytime I log into qasic.net, I always get immediately redirected to infopop.com. I'm still waiting for Qasic's response to help me fix this problem, but if anyone can, can you send me the WOL 4.0 MHK file, or the documentation? O.O Sorry, I think that the Locked Area program that Qasic is using is a little flawed. It even said I would be unbanned in 24 hours... it's been like two days. x.x And I didn't even do anything. ::sniff:: thank you for anyone who's willing to help me out. And I hope qasic can fix this bug so I can log into his server.

govedea: what files do you need updated? It seems as if you're doing the upgrade in bits and pieces?? I assume you want to manually install and then install the templates. I know you've done the latter section but I don't think you've completed the manually install completely.

Lord Dexter: Manually hack it and then run install_templates.

Ok, Thanks for that Qasic just wanted to see if the auto install would work.

I've read through your documentation and everything is installed.

For some reason the template files were not modified during installation.

I modifeid the cp_common.pl myself, since it only required one line be added.

The other files on the other hand require a little more and I'm not sure what.

I tried installing the templates again, I don't recieve any errors but nothing is happening.

These are the files in question.

1) public.login.cgi
2) public_forum_summary.pl
3) public_forum_page.pl

Did you use auto-install? If you did and it didn't hack them the permissions might have been wrong.

It's just I have a large site and so WOL bogs the system down a bit, I'm wondering what changes when you call the file directly instead of through the forum?

govedea: I believe there are instructions for hacking those files manually inside Whos_Online_ReadMe.txt .. Check that out!

mark99: Calling it via SSI () is MUCH better than using virtual because using ubb_whos_online_ssi.cgi only loads the required wordlets and config files. If you're using ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=whos_online_ssi, you're loading all the hefty files that come along with ultimatebb.cgi. In short, ubb_whos_online_ssi.cgi is MUCH, MUCH better!

In regards to improving speed, there are several ways I can tweak your individual site but there's nothing really major. The most common is setting the Time Until Logged Out to 5 minutes and Refresh Who's Online Detailed Page to 0. Disable the Record Book as well. If that doesn't help, you can try removing the _lck related lines in ubb_whos_online.cgi but beyond that .. there's nothing I can really do except to suggest to you to wait for 6.2 in which WOL would come by default on UBB.

Qasic I need some help from you.

I have installed WOL 4.0.0. Now when it lists people it has Users Online: (list) What I want to do is have the number of people online after the users online so it would be like this: Users Online (number). What is the variable for the number of people online? Is it $totalcount I'm not sure. Also what file would I be looking to modify in for this? I have a good idea.

Also is there a way to have the invisable people listed in list mode instead of hidden to people who can view Invisible people? (Like WOL 4.1.0)

Why does the zip not have some of the needed files anymore? I just downloaded it again and it is missing

Qasic,I registered on your site ages ago to get the hack,i got it but lost it.I went back to get it again and get nothing but problems when trying to register.I am a licenced infopop member and i need the hack again because i forgot to do the invisible bit.I tried to remember my old details but only got my ip banned.

Don't use f2s. It is known for having troubles with the WOL hack. Plus your forum won't load coz f2s is down again.

It shouldn't cause a problem as long as you select the correct logging method.
