Bye the way, it would be a very nice thing to include a new feature: admin/moderator-smilies:
due the fact that sometimes users post some sort of unneccessary 'blabla' our admins used to post a reply including a 'spam'-picture from monty python.
so it would be a very useful and nice thing to configure some sort of mod/admin-only-smilies *g*

i'm about to release v0.8 and if you have anything you want more for this mod, let me know. this mod is getting very close to final.

MM, why not? It didn't work for me at first either, but I just replaced the files from the ubb.zip and then hacked them again, and voila, it worked great. ???

maybe there is a conflict with one of the mods you have installed. i still have no idea. i looked at it for a long while yesterday. i went back today to see it working?

yea but i am using 0.6 now.

In my forum (6.02), the Modification Wordlets in control panel didn't work until I changed to:

DPK, its the "&SM_smilie;" in the public_faq.pl is not working, it is printed on the faq page and the smilie list don't work... had the same prob but corrected it.

sas replace it with $smilie_js

DPK, i don't know if that is how it should work if i replace it, but i can see a popup with the smilies then so i'm happy...

Raimund: if you get v0.8, u'll see that the fix for v0.7 for that problem is in it

well i got that problem after updating to 0.8

Just upgraded to 6.03 and reinstalled the hack. Everything seems to be ok.

Say, when is this mod going to be self-installing?

BenR.. go into the smilies advanced settings (in the control panel) and modify the smilie height and width.

I tried that but I still get the error and yes I am using version 8.

i have a problem with this hack and Forum Intro Text: in ->> cp ->> primary settings ->> general display settings

after installing this hack i have this:

in "Forum Intro Text" field.

and it's impossible to remove it... it always there when i come back...

that's not all

if i try to replace this with "forum bla bla bla" it looks like this in the field!!!!!!!!

so... when i go to my test board i have a stupid square cause the path to the images is http://tyran.ovh.org/cgi-bin/forum/smilies/none.gif

but why i always have

and if i place a text in the field, it put between EACH letter...

Do you think its possible to allow user to choose whether they want to use "drop-down menu" or the display of the instant graemlins?

I asked because some of my users who are still using the older systems (win95) are suffering from "lack of memory" due to the abandance of smilies when they load the page....

I don't know if it's me doing wrong but I've added new smilies to the list, but I keep seeing only the code (like :cool instead of the picture... But the original smilies work well...

What could it be? It was appening in 0.7 and 0.8...

tyran: It is happening becuase you are linking to an image that does not exist. When you specify, smilies/none.gif, the way it is setup, the board/server will retrieve or at least try to get /cgi-bin/forum/smilies/none.gif. To remedy this problem, for the img src, do /ubb/smilies/none.gif, instead of smilies/none.gif.

Hope that helps. It should work because I looked at your site's dir structure and you are right, none.gif does exist, just not in the place you are linking to.

i think you miunderstood me... i don't want this image.... i did'nt put that image in the field... i don't know why i ALWAYS have in the forum intro field... i DON'T want it...

if i remove it... when i come back to the cp... primary setting... general display... this stupid image still there...

if i replace with "abc" when i come back again i got this:

i want to revove it... but i can't... and WHY the hell it's there... i never put that in the field... after installing the hack and go to cp... primary settings... general display... forums intro... it's there...

i love your hack and i want it on by board... it's a great hack... but i can't install it with that bug... maybe i made a mistake during the installation... but i did it 3 times... always the same thing...
