Hi, if you ever wanted that the line "Message edited by" is not visible for special members, this hack could help you! Also it has got some other nice features, see below: Feature List:- Removing edit line for special members
- Edit Time feature
- Better look of the edit line
- Removing of multiple edit lines
- Adds the number of times a message was edited
- Support for these languages: English, German, French, Spanish

Yes that's what I thought at first but reading Zorro's post again it means that only Admins are invisible editors and everyone else shows up.

no, in the cp U can only turn it of for _all_ users... btw, I also did this hack, but it used Scotty's hack for 5.xx... then its like that: This way, all admins, and the moderator of the specific forum won't get that message

Sometimes you cant trust your moderators, so I have modified the code to work only for Administrators.

Hmm, I dont see why it wouldnt work. If you are testing it yourself.. I.E. signing up a new account that is moderator only, make sure you log out and re login as the moderator to test it.
Other than that, I wouldnt see why it would work for moderators.

I tryed this on my ubb6.01 and it only works for admins not for mods Is there some other code i could use that works?

Okay, I found the error: Before it worked only when the moderator was a mod in the forum in which he edited the post. But when he edited now a post of his own in a forum where he is not a mod, the edit line appeared.
So I updated the hack, should work now. Please test it, cali3d, and gimme feedback. Thx

Thanks, this works great... Hey, since this is now named the "Ultimate Edit Hack", would you consider adding in a few new features from a hack with the exact same name for the 5.x series to help make this complete? I believe it was by Scud Muffin a loooooong time ago. 1) Remove multiple "edited by"'s, when a user edits their message more than once. 2) Strip the edit text when they view the text box to edit their message more than once. 3) Make the edited by text smaller than reguler text. It does look much better. The HTML does not appear when editing of course. 4) Incorporate the time add-on into it, instead of just the default date. If you do choose to do this, it would be truly "Ultimate".

Tomorrow. Yeah, tomorrow. Really. The code is finished, compared with version 3 it's a lot more. It has been tested for several hours today by a friend and me, it worked perfectly. Also the deleting stuff is finished, works super. The only thing I still have to do are the deleting routines for the CP. Cause my server was down for a few hours, I couldn't test them. Oh, I love this guy of thinkfactory who translated the board into German. He made a terrible mistake in the CP, so there's a huge bug and that's the reason why the CP routines didn't work. Now I installed the English one, there it works perfectly. So, there are only left the installing instructions.......

Hmm what extra code do i add to this hack to allow Mega Mods to also edit.
I've install the hack using the 4th version to allow only Mods And Admins, this works fine but when a mega mods try it, you can see their name..

Hui, würde den ganzen Hack natürlich total umkrempeln, ist aber ein guter Vorschlag. Im Moment bin ich aber auch noch beruflich mit dem Hacken anderer Boards beschäftigt, daher hab ich ned allzu viel Zeit im Mom, aber freu dich schon mal auf Version 5, da wird das dann auf jeden Fall drin sein For all English speaking people: [GLX]SNES asked me if I could add a CP interface for this hack. Hi, hehe, was hab ich da nur wieder gesacht?! Jo, ich bin am Woende noch mit einem größeren Update eines Boards beschäftigt (Update UBB 5 -> UBB 6 / neues Design / Einbau von etwa 40 Hacks), dass das nicht ganz kostenlos ist, versteht sich wohl von selbst. Als UBB-Hacker hat man schon nen gesunden Stundenlohn, wenn ich das mal so sagen darf. Danach werde ich mich dann aber an das CP-Feature setzen, versprochen... Cu Zorro

No, no, you dindn't miss anything important. SNES only asked me if there'S a way of getting a CP interface for the hack, so I told him to wait for the release of version 5. It will include it... Cu Zorro

When I looked at version 4.1 of the hack, I see that it is tested for 6.04b. I was wondering if anyone has tested it for 6.04c because I just recently upgraded to 6.04c (which I might add was a ***** when adding older version hacks) in any case, if anyone has tested it yet for 6.04c please let me know.. thanks!

When i edit a post it worx fine,but when another admin/mod/megamod does it shows there name????? Please help... BTW great lill hackkk Thanx...

I added the code and for the most part it seems to work.... However I have noticed the following errors http://www.cybersoapbox.com/csbcgi/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=12&t=000011 the edit count is not increasing and when editing as an Admin/Mod it does not show as being edited at all? Hey Zorro, great hack. I'm in the process of installing this right now and had an idea that might make things a little easier. Of course, you said you had plans for a version 5,6,7, etc already, so you may have already thought of this. On Version 2 of this, for multiple people, instead of having an if statement with a bunch of 'OR's, maybe we could have a variable file somewhere the hack will look at to see who to hide edit messages for. That way we don't have to edit a cgi file everytime we want to add someone. Thanks for the hack.

Hi there... I'm new on the 'hacks' scene, but this is the second hack I've encountered a few stumbling blocks on...
I'm using UBB version 6.04c, using hack version 4.1, and I'm trying to find edit_wording => "Message edited by:", in vars_wordlets.cgi
but instead, I get...

I was trying to do the MegaModerator hack earlier, and came across problems (it wouldn't allow me to register new users, for one), so I don't want to... improvise.

*sigh* Seems like the site where the hack is located is still down.

Heh, I always wondered why you didn't have a permanant archive of all hacks? It's so frustrating finding a hack I'm after, only to find it no longer exists, and has a 5 page thread with people saying please put up a working link, followed by a new link which doesn't work.. etc etc.

Probably because there are only like 5 people with v6.0 Edit: did you know your server doesn't support Y2K? for example you registered in 1901 instead of 2001 Also, 6.05 is VERY old and buggy - everyone can crack it.. I suggest you to upgrade.

Hi Spent part of the day in here looking, not sure if I am using the right name for it. I need an editing mod or hack ASAP. That will stop someone from editing posts old than with a flex setting of say 7 or 14 days. I don't want to turn off editing for everyone, just not allow them to go back to every thread they posted on our site and delete or edit any that are older than what I set it for. Is there one?
