Thanks to Freakscene and everyone who installed it while it was Beta. I guess this is finished now since I haven't heard any problems with it in a long time. It's tested up to 6.04f on a Win2K box.

litte q on this hack...

how exactly do members get to choose what they want their username's glow as?

Users don't get to choose with this hack. I'm in favor of admins controlling everything, so admins pick the stuff on this hack Individual users do not have custom glow colors in this, you can just setup one color for all members, another color for all mods, and a third color for all admins. Your glow color is based on your status.

I tried the hack with Multi hack, after i configure it, and then go back to view, it doesnt save the info and just leave blank spaces.. ( thhe script i used was the one with NO Hypercell )

Ramirez - I installed the MHX version (with HyperCells installed) and got the same results as Raichu Babai.

The problem is that the second batch of these

were not added in cp_styles.cgi.

add those and it will work perfectly

kewl added those print statement and now the set color sticks... Only thing now is to get them to glow =( I tried resetting the cache, still no go =(

When using glow, I get a extra line space (blank) below the user's name, with text color no extra space. It's not critical, but it is driving me nutz.

Any chance of merging the 2 features to allow for custom text and glow color together? (without the space :o)

Where on the control panel am i suppose to be able to configure this? The style settings, or something sorry, i'm new to this, and as for the auto-install files, do i need to install them both, or just one based on what i've previously installed? Thanx ahead of time!

Not being a pain at all What browser are you using? Do you have a link to your board that I can look at?

You just need to install one of them depending on if you have hypercells installed. It's really cool, so I suggest installing it first anyways. After you install this hack, you go to your style settings and you'll have more settings than before where you can set this up.

It sounds like you used the wrong autoinstall or the wrong directions. You are missing the RadioFieldHyp subroutine, which is installed with Hypercells. If you accidentally used the instructions for Glowing Names after Hypercells, but don't have hypercells installed, you'll get this error. Go back over your hack to verify you used the right instructions.

MHX and Text files updated to fix a small bug on using moderator custom text and glow colors. I took away the SHW files because I don't feel like redoing them from scratch, sorry Look at the first post in this thread for links.

To upgrade, replace the large block of if statements in public_topic_page.pl

ccan you guys help me,i wanted this hack but i cant find any of the .pl files, like on the very first one cp_vars_styles.pl i dont have any .pl files for my ubb, ive got ubb 6.04f, does it work on this version? thanks in advance

I can't get this hack to work, no matter what.
The mhx link doesn't work anymore, and no matter how many times that code is enterd (once or twice), I still am having the same problem as the others.

How exactly did you guys get this mod to work??

They are in your templates directory, which is in the non-cgi directory.

The links seem to be working for me, have you tried them again recently? Also, if you still can't get them to work, email me your public_topic_page.pl file and I'll see what I can do.

well, i got like 6 instances of $show_public_name and replaced them all with %glowing_name.....

im not sure if this is a problem, but help is appreciated..thanks

Yes, that is where the problem would be. There should be one line that consists of only that one part "$show_public_name" You only want to replace it on that one line. The other instances are setting the $glowing_name value based on $show_public_name, so you need to leave those instances alone. You'll also notice that any other instances of $show_public_name, other than the one line, are parts of code I just had you hack in, so I probably wouldn't have you add code, then go back and change it later in the hack If you can't get it to work, email the public_topic_page.pl file to me at:
