I found something out... it shouldn't matter... it doesn't for me... but just FYI... I have a private forum... there are some who have access to it who are not mods or admins... but because they have access to that forum, they can not only see the thread names listed but they can get into that forum and right to the thread through the Who's Online List... I've been trying to test this out in different ways to see if anyone who DOESN'T have access to the forum can see the topic names or get into the threads through a backdoor... so far no... but I'm giving it a thorough workout...

You mean that they CAN'T
I forgot about it, only admins can see it now  I think I fixed it, rehack public_pntf_admin.pl and public_pntf_summary.pl and unhack ubb_pntf.cgi please... And if you modified the Wordlets, I suggest you to unmodify them

I haven't had to rehack anything... it is working just as I want it to... As the only admin, I am the only one who can see IP's... and only those who have been given access to the private forum can see the names of the topics in that forum... I've tested this out from just about every angle... Just out of curiosity... is there any kind of logic whatsoever to the assignment of the four digit number to unregistered lurkers? ... I noticed that the number stays with an IP for the day... but tomorrow it will change... and the same IP will have a different number... for the whole day... just curious what determines the numbers...

No, it doesn't work fine  Rehack public_pntf_admin.pl and public_pntf_summary.pl, it should work now... Changing version # to make everybody rehcak.

It takes the info straight from PNTF Admin, so it's not the hack's fault.

Ok... well that's good... but it would still be nice if it could be fixed somehow... maybe another hack? ... something to tweek the PNTF admin? ... just a thought...
