Name: HyperCells Hack with CP Control Version: v4.0 (works with UBB v6.2.1) What does is it do? Makes the background color of the 'main' cells in the forum summary, topic list, search results and today's active topics pages change color when the user mouses over them and makes the full cell a link to the appropriate page. All Style Settings are made in the control panel so you can set the cell colors and cursors there and they can be different per saved style. I installed it, but it seems it does not work with the UBB accelerator. Once I turned it off it started to work. Question, are the hypercell colors supposed to stay on after the mouse moves away from the target?

If installed correctly it works perfectly with accelerator ( as you can see on my site )

No, but it can happen if the incorrect color patterns are used. Try using the color selections recommended in the style settings page.

Greetings.
I solved the problem with the colors right after I posted my original post (Maybe I jumped the gun on that one), however I did not solve the problem with the accelerator.
Any ideas of what file I should rehack?
I'll try to figure it out tomorrow anyways

Due to a bug in multihack, Your multihack file has a couple of problems. When you create hacks with it, you need to double check the file locations, it changes the step above an added step sometimes.
FYI - Step 11 and 12 are listed in the wrong locations.

Found the multihack install program, ran it with no problem. I then went into cp.cgi >> Style Settings, and I get this:
cp_vars_style: Undefined subroutine &main::RadioFieldHyp called at d:/web/w126190/docs/ubb/noncgi/Templates/cp_vars_style_core.pl line 33.

OH, By the way, in the multihack install output, if the file location is wrong, it does not flag it as an error, you get a message the file was not found, but it is not considered an error(red highlighted line) and can easily be overlooked.
So if you were saying it installed ok based on the output of the multihack install, you might want to look closer, especially when making updates to the multihack file and testing for release.
Nice hack though, I installed it on my board and everyone just loves it! Thanks

BTW, for anybody that has Hit hack installed, in public_forum_summary.pl for the step below, replace
$HyperCellInsert2$HyperLPPath with
$HyperCellInsert1$HyperLPPath otherwise your last post column will be backwards.

And there is any diference btwn "below" and "after" while hacking?

Sweet! I was able to hack this using Multihack, but the cp_common.pl and the cp_styles.cgi were switched around. What do I mean? Multihack was looking for the cp_common.pl in the cgi folder, and it was looking for the cp_styles.cgi in the ubb/Templates folder. Other than that, the hack went as smoothly as a hot knife through soft butter!

I have the same problem as Thorin. Multihack worked fine (after convincing it about some file locations), but there's no place in the CP where the hypercell settings are displayed. I'm using Version 6.2.1

I noticed that there are two vars_style_1.cgi files; one was in my cgi-bin, and the other was in ubb/styles
I didn't realize this until after I tried to hack through once; so I backed-up, and I redid the hack--using the corrent location of the vars_style_1.cgi
I'm not sure if it was w/this hack or not--after doing a number of them, they kinda blur together! :rolleyes:

ADWOFF, vars_style_1.cgi is not hacked by this mod, so I am not sure what you were thinking about?

Mr. StormyNights ... I hate it when that happens! It was in one of the hacks I was doing! Okay ... I had something interesting happen. I just re-installed the hypercell hack (I decided to do a full upgrade to 6.2.1.1), and it all seems very well--except for one of the style templates I created. Whenever I would initiate the "hypercell," I'd get this pop-up error message: quote:

I want to use Beyond Compare to see how that template is different from the ones that work, but I don't know which files to compare.

look in your noncgi styles directory, thats where the styles templates are.
they would be vars_style_1.cgi, vars_style_2.cgi, etc.....

running 6.2.1 love the hack almost works perfectly - slight problem. When the pointer passes over the last post cells in forum summary, the colour change happens OK but the cell colour doesn't revert back after the pointer has left the cell??
