The purpose of this hack is to divorce the Private Message page from the "my profile" page. It will also create a PM link in the header.

The hack can be downloaded from HERE .

To download, move your cursor to the word HERE above, click on the RIGHT mouse button, and Save Target As. This is the normal download procedure for geocities (aka yahoo) server!

Does this work in 6.3?

I haven't tried it for 6.3, but I am sure it does.

It seems to be working fine in my 6.2.1

I just went to the text for this hack and I don't see any reference at all to jordo's hack... it would have saved me alot frustration if that had been stated up front as a requirement for this hack... I've had this hack partially done and my PM's disabled for almost a week now waiting for an answer...

Jordo's hack is optional, not required!

freetv... sorry I've been scarce today... I got fed up with this mess and unhacked the whole of it and then went to the gym to beat up on some weight machines... this really did hack me off... (pun intended).. I've had this partially hacked for almost a week... and I've been asking for help since the 13th...

the problem was... I could hack everything exactly as the text said... with the exception of the one spot stated above... oddly enough, it's the very first step in the text file... :rolleyes: .... there are some other places throughout the instructions that say to "skip this if..." ... I skipped those as they did not apply to me... I did make assumptions in those areas... I assumed that the only step to skip was the immediate next one and NOT anything after that... For example...

At this point I can't remember if I just skipped the first FIND and REPLACE or if I skipped both of them.... which is correct? ... skip just the first or skip both?

My whole board went kablooey when I tried to install this without doing the first step... (listed above)... so I just uploaded my backup ultimatebb.cgi and I was able to get along fine all week...

Maybe with what I've provided here, you can tell me what's wrong? ... to me, it seems as if the only problem was... where should that code be so I can change it?

If you don't skip those steps, it still works, but it will bring you to the "my profile" instead of "PM" page. That's all.

It would be difficult to tell the exact problem w/o looking at the URL.

- Yes, it was a typo, should be "ultimatebb.cgi".
- The code can be found in "ultimatebb.cgi" somewhere in the middle of the file.
