Lord Dexter, not really, that's how it is XHTMLed

I might make it look prettier by using document.write('.....'), but also the other form works.

Tim: Rehack ubb_profile.cgi, and make sure you chose to show it.

LK- Oh, well it wouldn't work so I had to un-do the XHTML.

And I got the problem fixed, forgot to upload ubb_profile.cgi hacked. Great hack LK.

LK,
Great hack! Where do I increase the font size for events in the calendar?

Fixed another bug reported in the 6.1.0 thread. Upload the new ubb_calendar_ssi.cgi and vars_wordlets_calendar.cgi (atleast the 'none' line)

Did we stop using the AltColumnColor1 type settings? I didn't see them suggested in the cp like it used to be...

&HeaderRow("Color Settings: You can use hex numbers (like #000000), color names (like red) or colors from Style Templates (like AltColumnColor1). If you don't know how to find style template colors, enter vars_style_1.cgi and look for keys with 'color' in their names.", "2", "#c9c9c9", "#000000", "left", "2");

smile

Yes, it can be used without birthdays, just unhack ubb_profile.cgi and ubb_registration.cgi smile

ZIP/MHK files updated.

Updated features:
1. Uses UndoCodeTag.
2. You can choose to use UBB Code but not [img].
3. public_new_calendar_event.pl doesn't close td/tr before the first submit thing... It looked ugly.
4. public_new_calendar_event.pl uses another Wordlet for the button, 'Add Calendar Event' instead of 'Add a calendar event' or something like that.

Updated files: ubb_lib_calendar.cgi, vars_wordlets_calendar.cgi, public_new_calendar_event.pl, cp_vars_calendar.pl.

Nice hack LK!

I'd love to use this on my forum, but I need the ability to set events weekly. Like every Friday for example. That would make it so much easier for my users. Is this a possibility? COuld it be in a future release?

Great hack jordo - installed it last night and already getting a lot of use out of it!

I do have a slight problem with getting the SSI part to work in order to show calendar events on my homepage. I modified my homepage to have a .shtml extension, but it still won;t work.

When I use:

nothing shows up at all.

And when I use:

what shows up is the entire message board main page template with menu and everything, and it displayes the "This message board is closed" message.

Any ideas?

I added the calendar mod to my 6.21 (at http://www.twinstuff.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi) and it works well except for one strange quirk.

The last two new registrants to my board who elected to display their birthdays both had the same day show up as their birthday, November 30, when they actually entered their real birthdays as June 5 and October 23.

In each case it doesn't understand the year they were born. You can see it in the calendar entry at this page http://www.twinstuff.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=calendar&date=2452609

I still haven't been able to get the SSI to work yet, but now I have another question.

I would like to put the Calendar link and list of today's events that normally shows at the bottom of the page up above the fold, and more specifically, in between the ">> Hello, [log out]" table cell and the "Forum" table cell. The reason I want to do this is to make it more visible. I also want to increase the font size of the text within this widget.

I was successfully able to make other modifications to calendar, but am having difficulty 1) finding the display code for that widget and 2) finguring out where to put it to meet my above goal.

Anyone have any suggestions?

(thanks in advance)

LK, for next version could you modify the wordlet "'s birthday" with the new wordlets format used by IP like "%%username%%'s birthday" it would make it really easier to translate in other langages smile

thanks

-Chuck

A small suggestion. What we did is having changed the wordlets for "xxx is xx years old today. Send him (her) greetings in our Special Birthday Forum". So people can send them greetings! You can even link it to a greeting card system. Works quiet well

nice hack smile
I got two questions tho:
I tried to get the "events" to show between the login/calender like Geronimo said. I edited those lines you said but its just as before no change at all.
The second is that when I enter my forum I see the calender link but not when Im in the "overview forums" screen. Would be nice with a hint on where Ive forgot to add a code smile
Thanks

hehe no I didnt, forgot I had to do that smile too long since I was modifying a forum now smile
Thanks for the answer

one more thing. Im starting to wonder if it wasnt this Geronimo meant since it still aint like this. Or its just me misunderstanding. Anyhow is it possible to get the "event box" that show on the bottom of the page when you click on calender to show above the calender instead of bottom ?

I also have a problem with birthdays showing up. In the calendar table no birthdays appear. I installed calendar 2.0 from multihack and I rechecked the ubb_profile.cgi but it seems ok.
Any ideas?
