Documentation: Here is the next release of the mod, v1.3. It now is pretty much complete except for wordlets which I'll add in v1.4.

Below is a brief developmental history of the mod and where it is headed.

Mod History:
v1.1:

Finally, I've been waitin for this hack.
But I can't download it from your site for some reason, It can't connect to your server.

big bug: It seems to have a few rows of smilies instead of just one. in other words, the same smilie row 3 times.

DPK is it possible to organise the smilies?
Into sub folders etc

So the users can select from the different folder names etc
eg
they can simply click the link to go to
'Blue Smilies'
'Huge Smilies'
'3D Smilies'
etc

But I'm not sure how it'd be in the reply box
I mean, if I do -->
It should bring a smiley
but how to make it so if I do -->
it would get pulled from the right folder..

You know what would be a cool idea? If you had like all these smilies but a different color scheme for each forum you wouldnt want smilies to match each style. Where you add/edit a forum you have a drop down box where you can select which Smilie Set to use set in the SmilieMod CP.. Just a thought.

uh, hempi, first thing, watch ure mouth. second thing, download the right version for the board you are installing it on. this is a 6.1 forum this mod is posted in. if you did get the zip of the mod with ubbcodebutton stuff in it, u got smiliemod v1.1 which is for ubb 6.0 boards only.

Tell me how it happened, how many smilies you have, etc, so I might possibly be able to recreate this bug.

I added about 53 smilies on the forum I tested the script on without problems.

yeah, they are back up. my hosts provider moved the site over to a new server recently and my host didn't find out about it until just recently. everything is fixed now so there should be no more problems.

Is this a finished hack, or will there be another revision?

Further to my last post...

Is there anyway to alter the width of the pop up window for the smilies.

It does not appear wide enough, and for some reason, one cannot manually stretch the box in IE6.

Yes, you can adjust the box to make it wider..
But first try to rename all smilies with long names to shorter names before uploading them..This will help.. Next:

##open ubb_smilie.cgi and look for:

window.open('$vars_config{CGIURL}/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=smilie_legend', 'smlegend', 'scrollbars,width=225,height=400,left=200,top=200')

You can now enter whatever values you want for both height and width.. I recommend 300 as a value for both...

##Hence:

window.open('$vars_config{CGIURL}/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=smilie_legend', 'smlegend', 'scrollbars,width=300,height=300,left=200,top=200')



Save, upload, chmod, your done...

since I have a lot (x10) smilies (more than 200 I think)
I have the following problems :

then don't all appear in the graemlins control panel page, after number 199 they don't appear

since I have so many I use the dropdown box but would still like to have a couple "basic" ones in the instant graemlins box. Thus how could I add a check box next to the smilies I would like in the box ? (in the 6.x version the first smilies I would select would be the one in the box but it is not the case anymore with this version)

Yes, Allen's XHTML templates hack lowercased it.

I have the same problem as MasterMind, it's conflicting with a hack somewhere.. I'm not running the accelerator. I'll post a screenshot of the problem when my server is back up.

when i choose a smile from the dropdown box, nothing happens, shouldnt it appear in the ytext box for the message?

i dont think mine is working correctly, should anything happen when u select the smilie from the dropdown box? because nothin happens when i do, i dont think rehacking will work, i used the multihack

wonderful hack!

but one problem...

running 6.1.0.3...

the Instant Graemlins table with all the smilies in it seems to squash up all the smilies! so that they are all defaulted to a small size so the whole smiley doesnt fit and it is squashed, any fix for this?

but i have another problem

no picture smilie shows up next to the dropdown box! the null gif is there, but when i click on it, the text appears in the text box though, any clue on wha is wrong?

lg: where is your board at? maybe i can spot the problem quicker that way.
