I installed this and it worked when I edited something...but when I hit "reply" on a post I got this error message:

Error
An error has occured:

/(nrn)(.*)()/: unmatched () in regexp at /www/freedominion/cgi-bin/ubb/ubb_new_reply.cgi line 168.

Please inform the board administration of this error so that they may fix the problem. Thank you!

Anyone have a clue what I might have done wrong? My board is 6.1.0.2

What is on that line in that file? It sounds like you didn't copy/paste it correctly.

I re-did it twice and I'm still getting the exact same error message. Any other ideas?

conn, these lines aren't neither in this hack nor in the original file. Load working backups and rehack or upload a totally new ubb_new_reply.cgi from the UBB ZIP and rehack every hack that modifies it.

FYI --

To get this working (using v3) I had to get rid of the last ); in the following line

$message .= qq(

[ $edit_date $edit_time: $vars_wordlets{edit_wording} $pubname ]
;

in ubb_edit_post.cgi

Good hack tho

Edit: Is Ultimate Edit 4 going to be ported?
If not, I'd like to know how I can make the edit note automaticaly delete upon edit or qoute.

I'm using 6.1.0.3 and this isn't working right on my forum.

If I edit once, it works. If I edit a post twice, the edit prints this:
--------------------

[ 03-19-2002 07:38 PM: Edited by: Galactus ]

[ 03-19-2002 07:38 PM: Edited by: Galactus ]

---------------------

If I edit three times, the edit prints this:
--------------------

[ 03-19-2002 07:38 PM: Edited by: Galactus ]

[ 03-19-2002 07:38 PM: Edited by: Galactus ]

[ 03-19-2002 07:38 PM: Edited by: Galactus ]

---------------------

...and so on, and so on.

Any ideas?

Greg, an easy fix for that would be to delete this section when you edit your post:

Then the hack should work fine and dandy.
Lame I know, but it works wink
