my $replace = qq~

Replace With:

That is untested code, btw, so it may not work.

Variables, the way you have got it set up, you shouldnt need to do as dende posted, it should work fine. But if it doesnt work you could try that code. smile

I just wanted to mention, because I'm an HTML fascist, that this mod won't work in Netscape Navigator 4. The bordercolordark and bordercolorlight attributes are nonstanard and not part of the official HTML specification.

Matt Jacob is of course correct, netscape users will not be cut in on this feature. Though it shouldn't cause any problems in viewing the page with Netscape.

Robban, could I get a link to your forums?

What's Netscape? Oh yeah, that's the browser that use to rule the world when it was still 3.0...

NS3 was a sweet browser...lean, fast and error free.

Yeah, good plan Dende. The only thing that was beveled was my head, so the code does nothing indeed.

It hasn't been tested with 6.05, but it will most likely work. Just be sure to back up your files.

nice hack. I had one problem though and it very well may have been something I overlooked or forgot, maybe one of you could help me.

The bevel size doesn't seem to work from the CP. no matter what value I give it, it only gives me a border size of 1. Here is a screenshot of my cp.

[Linked Image]

It seemed to have made the little color swatches bigger, and there is that god awful greyish-blue bar next to where it has the bevel size. Is this right?

That's exactly what I get too, and if I set the size to zero is still messes with the gradients.

Found the problem. To fix this open up cp_styles.cgi and do the following:

Do that step twice and that should fix it. Instructions updated.

Now the bevel around the outside of the tables can be adjusted, but nothing happens to the inside of the tables. Not that I really care, cause I like them both set at 1, but just figured I would tell ya. CP still looks the same. It is an awesome hack. I like it. Just needs a little fine tuning.

It appears that this hack works in the newest version of Netscape (6.2).

It appears to work fine in netscape at my forums, though I didn't check any others so you may be correct. The bevel size is to adjust the outside borders to make the tables look as if they are sunk into the page more... and I don't think thi inside borders can be adjusted.

Haven't had time, maybe this weekend I will be able to get the regular HTML one complete. The CSS one will take more time, but will look much better, and have more options for cleaner looks and adjustable colors/sizes for categories and alternate column colors.
