Here's a little mod if you have an actual Spellchecker.net account. It assumes that you have downloaded and configured the SpellChecker.net support files. Once done, install this mod to get a "Spell Check" button and automatic replacement of corrected text. Download: Here! Requires: UBB 6.1.x and Spellchecker.net account and support files: - sproxy.cgi
- sproxy.ini
- spch.js
These files can be downloaded from HERE. The zip file contains both a text file and a MHX file. This is basically a 6.1.x update of the SpellChecker.net instructions for 5.x. Also assumes vars_wordlets_mod.pl exists. Updated 1/8/02 to fix missing variable in public_common.pl. [ 01-08-2002 03:22 PM: Message edited by: Dan Collins ]

Not sure why the download doesn't work. It's just a straight FTP access. I've changed it to a HTTP reference, see if that works.
The other mod creates a text link, IIRC. This uses a push button next to the "Add Reply" or "Edit Post", etc., button. The formatting of the text is preserved prefectly, and the text is transfered in and out of the text box by object reference. The other mod reads it one character at a time.

Sound pretty nice, but:
a. what's spch.js? b. you can make: src="$vars_config{NonCGIURL}/spch.js", and let the people use this file from NonCGI url.

As mentioned in the original post, this assumes you have already downloaded the support files from SpellChecker.net which includes spch.js.
You are absolutely correct about path reference, however. A puddin'headed mistake on my part. That has now been fixed.

Can't say he didn't mention it...
(Scientists) are apolitical, supposedly, like civil servants--empiricists, who only wanted things managed in a rational scientific style, the greatest good for the greatest number, which ought to be fairly simple to arrange, if people were not so trapped in emotions, religions, governments, and other mass delusional systems of that sort.
