So, is there ever going to be a version that I can use and not feel like I have to upgrade?

I'm using 6.05, but i have a 6.1 test board that I'm going to slowly wrap a site around, but what is this 6.1.1? Does this hack work with 6.1.0?

i just kidding about the versions, but they do stream out rather quickly.

it should work with all versions from 6.05 to 6.1.0.1.

The link seems to be working fine now.

In the instructions it says to ">>Open vars_wordlets_mods:". Well, is that a typo or something because I can not find that file name anywhere...

There seems to be a problem with the installation of this hack on 6.1.0.2.

I'm trying to work with my test board--seeing whether or not I can install these hacks before going to my actual board--and I'm having trouble locating stuff to install this anchor hack.

First, I couldn't find the file vars_wordlets_mods

So I came here. It was suggested that I install the Modification Wordlets 1.0. So I gave it a shot. When I loaded the ultimatebb_mod_wordlets_install.cgi file and ran it, I couldn't get beyond this:

I tried CHMOD both 777 and 755, and I had no luck.

So then I saw that it said I could install it by hand. When I got the cp.cgi file, though, I could not find this line--> &RequireVars("$vars_config{VariablesPath}/vars_wordlets_date.cgi");


What do I need to do to get this hack installed? Of all the hacks, this is the one I find most valuable because there is nothing more frustrating than having to wade back through all of the posts.

Snag Qasic's Who's online for 6.1 and use the Modification Wordlet hack that's within the zip file. It works fine with 6.1. There seems to be a bug with the standalone version of it that he's yet to correct (but is aware of).

is this 6.1.0.2 compliant?

Yes - I have it running fine on 6.1.0.2.

Okay, in working further on the anchor hack, I'm trying to locate this line

I can't find it.


BTW, I also tried the ultimatebb_mod_wordlets_install.cgi in the Who's Online package, and received this message when I ran it:

I was able to, however, do it manually (I hope! ).

LK: Looks like you were correct in that last code change--instructions should be changed. So all this hack does is return you to your post on a reply, e.g., if it's a multi page topic?

How about taking you back to the list of topics after posting a reply? Is there a hack for that?

No this hack only brings you to your post and it's only really noticeable in a mult-page topic or a thread that is long. I assume it's called "anchor" since it uses the anchor tag to bring you to the post you just made.

I WISH I could have new topics return to the topic list...let me know if you hear of anything...

There's an easy way to do this. Changing 2 bits in ubb_new_reply.cgi .
