Sick of the mods going into the control panel and messing around with your settings? Sick of that not so trusty admin deleting things he/she shouldn't? Not any more with this little mod.
Hack Name: Control Panel Restriction For Everyone, Even Admins

Thanks To: Every mod that ever pissed me off and made me angry enough to lock the CP.
Description: Locks control panel to everyone except those you wish to enter.
Demo: n/a, cp mod
How To Do It: This mod involves using .htaccess and .htpasswd, if you have never used these files you may have some trouble with this mod.
First, make a notepad file with your user name and password.
Save this file as .htpasswd and upload to the cgi-bin.
Second, make a notepad file with the encoding to make the password prompt like this:
AuthUserFile /htdocs/users/c01555/wwf/wwfwrestlinggames.com/html/forum/cgi-bin/.htpasswd
AuthName Members
AuthType Basic
require valid-user
Save this file as .htaccess and upload to the cgi-bin.
And that's it! I know some of you already know this. I just thought I'd pass it along to the ones who don't, it's really a nice little tip.

Just add more lines in .htpasswd, but remember to put them on separate lines, otherwise it won't work

That's the problem. I don't see the files anywhere. They've been uploaded but when I go back into the main ftp directory. It's not listed in there?

Did you look for it in the cgi-bin directory(not the main ftp directory)? That's where they should be.

Those files are typicaly hidden from view. Try typing "ll -a" to list all files (without the quotes). This will show you owners and groups associated as well as the hidden from view files (under Linux only).

If you can't, simply use the delete function on these files without seeing it (for example "dele .htaccess", or "del .htaccess" in some programs...)

Just a note to people who don't know - you need to use the Apache web server for this to work (although most do).
