It adds a new button in the Instant UBB Code™ box that links to a popUp HTML window.

It's really a small thing but very handy for people using the COLOR feature of the Advanced UBB Codes hack and having trouble coming up with color codes.

Felix,

This is nifty as hell, but I did find a couple of errors when I added this to my 6.3.1.2 board...

public_topic.pl should be public_common.pl, and where you reference "hex_codes.html", you only have the prewritten file extension as ".htm", so anyone adding this hack will need to make sure they use one extension or the other.

Another area that could confuse many, is the "www.YOUR SITE.com/www/ubb/hex_codes.gif", since most users will not have the extra "www/" reference in their file trees.

As soon as I uploaded and received the errors, these were quick and obvious fixes. smile

Right on all 3 instances. To much Earl Grey I guess. smile
Updated today, Jan. 14.

There is one more issue, I can't figure it out though. I have a border around the hex_codes.gif even though the code

doesn't call one! maybe someone can help me out?

Thanks tgreene

You need to post the code as:

* Note the border="0", immediately after the image is called.

Also, I removed the "http://www.YOUR SITE.com", and used "../" since it's not only redundant, but tells a browser to look for a remote file, when in fact, it's local.

yes, I already found it, forgot to code border"0"
Damn, it's so easy to miss these things. I already added it. I also added a missed space

before the code line, missed initially as well.

Thanks again

Nice hack, but in place of the YOURSITE.com or as tgreene suggested the ../
I suggest you use reference $vars_config{NonCGIURL}
Felix: That way people will not have to change any code
tgreene: Your idea would work for a standard type directory structure, ie
Root:/
|--/cgi-bin
|
|--/ubb
but many users may use different structures, so its best just to grab the value from the hash array, this way it points to whatever the user has setup.

Got it!

Gee...It was so easy! I only had to look above to the Image line and match the code! I have the tendency to lean towards the HTML codes which I know little better. Learning....

The new line:

File Updated, again, Jan.15.

Thank you BassTeQ
