how do i stop my board from getting hacked
on the old version i used to use
UBB .htaccess PassWord Directory (for UNIX) v1.10
is anything available for version 6
i needto stop people been able to access the dir`s from a borwser such as members files and cgi dir`s
can anyone help me out here
i am new to this stuff the guy that did my last board is not able to do version 6.04b

I would start off by checking the CHMOD values of your folders. Also make sure that you're running your /ubbcgi and /ubbcgi/members directories from within a protected cgi-bin. Also upgrade to the latest version, 6.04d, as it contains numerous bugfixes and patches.

Well, I would say to only give them as much permission as you need to run the script. 755 for most, while the Members directory needs 777. It helps to run scripts from a protected cgi-bin directory, though.
