I am trying to modify the basic layout of the page: ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=000001 There is no need to modify the page:ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=1&SUBMIT=Go as no one will ever see this (I know this is confusing, but bear with me for a second) The forum structure is VERY SIMPLE and created for non computer people to read and respond only. They will be taken DIRECTLY to a thread page from the website and never see the "choose a forum" page, and I need to eliminate things like the "new topic button", as this will not be an option and will confuse the situation. How can I find the Template for "a thread" and for the forum page (as this will open up in the future as other threads open) .. Still confused... ME TOO! Is there a simple way to see what template is called so that it can be edited? Is there a list of which template is for which page?
Sorry for the confusion...

Welcome... You can remove the "new topic" buttons by editing the public_topic_page.pl template and the public_forum_page.pl template. You can make most any change in there you want to "clean up" the options. Ask if you have more questions...

No questions yet, I just want to thank you for responding, I'll play with it... Thanks!

P.S. Ok, there is another question... to eliminate the smiley faces (Instant Graemlins in the reply, is it the public_users_post.pl?

You're welcome. Just turn them off in your control panel, should be either under "general settings" or "miscellaneous".
