By default, UBB is designed to alternate with two specified colours between adjacent columns. I would like to manually set this by overriding the style sheet parameters through hard coding the background colour values for these table columns. This is particularly useful if you intend to use more than two shades of the same hue. For an example, the columns under ‘Forum’ and ‘Posts’ could be laid out in a light grey, the ‘Last Post’ column can be a dark grey while the moderators column is given a value of blue. Not being a programmer by profession, I have attempted to modify the public forum page as well as the public summary Perl files but to no affect after uploading these. Which lines in particular must I modify?

Secondly, I would like to exchange the ubiquitous light bulbs which appear on the summary page with an individualized graphic for each forum topic. Currently, the control panel only allows a blanket substitution for the light bulb icon. How can I insert a corresponding graphic for each topic?

I am using 6.04e.

Thank you.

What you should do is create a new style sheet. Then you can have it the way you want, the option is at the bottom of the primary settings menu.

Good luck

The solution, unfortunately, is not as simple as that.

Style sheets are still restricted to two alternating colours. What I'm attempting to do is manually dictate what colour the cell background carries of a particular column. So in other words, the column under forums would be white, the columns displaying the number of posts would have a blue background, and so on. This, I cannot do at all using style sheets.

The only remaining option therefore, is to tweak the code within the Perl scripts themselves. Once I know which lines to modify, I'll be in a much better position towards accomplishing that goal.
