We just began using UBB and have upgraded to 6.1.0.2 as of yesterday. We are running on a server without PHP.

We are already getting complaints about speed. Things that we have already done are...turn off caching, no html, no graphics. I think that is about it.

Is there anything else we are missing? If you care to check out what I am referring to just view our bb at JonFund Bulletin Board .

Thank you very much.

Best,

cool Danimal

It's slow because of your server, even the pictures load slowly, but:

1. Turn cache ON wink
2. What do you mean 'no html, no graphics'?

To my knowledge, cache only decreases the page loading time.

What I meant by no pictures is that we do not allow folks to upload photos or use them in sig files.

Any more feedback on this point is greatly appreciated. Other comments on server speed are also helpfl as we do not have a real benchmark for speed. Switching to another server may be a possibility.

Best,

cool Danimal

I'd say switch. It took me a while to load up your main page so I guess either there isn't enough bandwith or the server is just slow.

I wanted to get opinions from folks who have more experience on this. The host is donated by a club member who works for an ISP. I don't know if we can switch or not but the comments here will open us up to other possibilities. Thanks for the suggestions.

I guess, from what I have written, we pretty much have all of the important stuff as it relates to settings that affect speed set correctly.

Best,

cool Danimal

Not sure if you have twaeked things, but when I view it from the UK, it loads up fine.

No problems at all with speed that I can see.

Cheers,

Canvey.
