The nature of most boards puts the most recent posts/threads at the top of a forum, you have to scroll to get to older messages. Sometimes people will "bump" a message to the top by posting "bump" and causing the thread to be sent to the top of a forum.
It's usually better to actually write something useful (more info, something) other than just "bump"
