1. How do i setup my ubb so people can post little pictures below their display name? or at least have the moderators do that.

2. Where can i get a new set of gramelins or message icons like the ones above the posting window?

3. What are wordlets and why do i need them and what do they do?

4. Are templates the whole theme of the ubb? Like buttons, colors, layout etc. and are there some out there to use?

i am using ver 6.05. should i upgrade to do some of things im asking?

1. Search any one of our Mods Beta/Final forums for "Avatar" and you'll find the hack you're looking for.

2. Just upload the images you want into your NonCGI/icons directory and keep the naming convention intact (ie. icon15.gif, icon16.gif, etc.). They will automatically show up.

3. Wordlets are little bits of info that allow you to customize almost every piece of text in UBB. Just take a glance through the Primary Wordlets list, and you'll see some phrases you should already recognize.

4. There are two kinds of templates: Style Templates (capitalized) and template files. Style Templates deal with things like colors and images, and you can edit these through the control panel. Template files control the HTML page layout of every possible UBB-generated page, and are located in your NonCGI/Templates directory - you'll need a text/html editor and a little knowledge of HTML and perl variables to edit these.

5. Upgrading is not absolutely necessary to accomplish those things, but it's highly suggested, because 6.1.0.X (6.1.0.3, in this case) makes UBB a great deal easier on the server and improves speed and reliability. So we strongly recommend it.
