I have Ultimate Bulletin Board 6.1.0.3 . I got it from a friend. BUT, I wasn't sure about something. Is UBB a free program? or (in other words) do I have to pay for a for it?

Uh, no, it's not a free program in the least. http://www.infopop.com/ Go purchase a license. If you choose not to get a license, destroy the file you received and tell your friends to do the same.

Thanks for the responce. I guess I'll have to buy a license. One last question (well, 2 questions), do I have to pay $199 per year or just a 1 time payment of $199? Or is there a cheaper way?

$199 gets you a non-expiring license and one year of free updates. Thereafter, it will cost you $99 a year to update your Member Area subscription.
