One of my members made the following request:
I find the Today's Active Topics page really useful, however, it would be really great (for those of us out of your timezone) if it held the active topics for the last 24 hours instead of those raised today.
I checked infopop's board, and saw that this has been requested before.
Has anyone looked into whether this would be easy to hack, and if so, how to do it?
I'm running 6.1.0.4

After looking at the code (mainly ubb_lib_posting.cgi) for a while, it appears to work like this:
Each daily topic index file is time-stamped with the current date.
When a topic or reply is posted, it's added to the current (for the current date) daily index file, and any old daily index files are deleted.
Here's a possible solution:
The topic entries in the index file appear to be individually time-stamped. If that's true, maybe the previous day's index file could be retained, as well as the current index file. The Today's-Active-Topics function could process both of those files, and discard topics older than 24 hours.
Does this make sense?

FYI, we're fixing this in either 6.2.1 or 6.3, depending which group it gets lumped into.

Thanks, Charles Since 6.3 is probably months away, if this is an easy fix, and you can outline the solution, I'd appreciate it.

It involves tossing out the current search model, actually.
