can a virus be sent via a ubb board?.. I should say just from logging on? Reason I ask I have a local kook saying he is getting a virus from our board.... this is the file name he gives me.... hunttalk/backdoor.vr ..Also says that its a trojan backdoor virus and norton picks it up, I personally think he is looking for attention.... got any ideas? There have been security holes in the UBB which allow malicious things to be done with embedded Javascript. Turning off HTML (and possibly UBB Code images), and/or upgrading to the current version reduces the likelihood of this happening. Also, if an unauthorized person has access to the server or to the control panel, he could sneak script into the headers. I have NAV 2002 with all shields on, and I don't get any warnings from your boards.
