I have no idea on how to make one and if someone could either show me a way or point me to a tutorial that would be sweet.
Someone told me it has something to do with .htaccess

First things first - see if your ISP has a method for creating one. Sometimes it'll be in their documentation, or something like "404.html" will be in your web root directory.
They also might have instructions in their docs.

No so when people type in the wrong pahe after my domain name it comes up with my own made page.

Right. That's what Charles said. Your host might already have an easy way for you to specify your own custom error pages. If not, you'll need to determine whether your server is running Windows or Unix/Linux.
