Which file contains the name/descriptions of all the forums in the Forum Settings... I backed up all my ubb files deleted them all off the server and installed fresh ubb files and i'm just putting back the files that has key info like this and members... I put back the folders forum1, forum2............. forum9 but this only brings back the posts... not the name/description...

It didn't work so... The forum names were still Forum1, Forum2 etc etc...

Also i was wondering what files contain the actual posts... They show up when it says Last post blah blah blah but when you try to goto them they are blank... someone know what ones i need to replace with my backups...

I didn't read your post carefully when I answered your question. There are a number of files that contain "key info", and I don't know all of them.

Why are you doing this? There may be an easier way of accomplishing your objective.

Its a small forum... there wasn't to many posts so i've just cleared the whole thing and started from scratch... I'm gonna give them a lovely Valentines day Layout in return for the down time and lost posts... but there post counts are still the same...

If you simply wanted to clear out posts, the safest way is to use the prune function in the control panel. You might need to run the "rebuild" functions in the maintenance menu afterwards.

Deleting the files manually is tricky, because you have to know exactly what all the files are, whether there are interdependencies among the files, which ones the UBB automatically creates, etc.
