i'm currently running 6.1.0.3 and i'm planning to upgrade to 6.2 i was wondering if i would loose the previous hacks that i installed .....

Whenver you upgrade, hacks are lost.

When going between mionor releases (i.e. 6.1.0.3 -> 6.1.0.4), you can use tools like BeyondCompare to manually upgrade the files.

However, it's harder to do this between major releases, i.e. 6.1 -> 6.2.
