The board I maintain does not have access to .php, thought .php exists... it's just a more expensive plan and the board owner does not wish to fork out the extra dough at this time for .php access.

Anywho, I ran the ubbaccel_test.php out of curiosity and got this result:

Your PHP version is 4.12: OK
Your PHP version has zlib: No
Your PHP version will have no issues with the UBB Accelerator. There does not appear to be zlib support in this PHP version. The UBB Accelerator will be unable to use zlib compression.

Okay, so fine. I know I won't get to take advantage of zlib, but maybe the board should indeed run faster still?

So I log onto the board to test things out. It does indeed seem to go faster.

The one problem I discover is whenever I hit any 'link' within the board that would take me back to the previous section, or all the way to the main board, I'm nailed with this: Oops, I can't get a flock on the counter file.

Heh... I've never seen that error before and I have no clue what it means. I'm going to check out the ubbaccel.txt file.

I was wondering if anyone had a clue what this might mean? Maybe because the site doesn't have 'true' access to .php, that might be the reason this happens? And why does it only happen when trying to go 'back' to a previous section? Strange.... beyond my knowledge.

Done deal CC.

But, I didn't submit valid 'sensative' information such as login & password information on that ticket. That seems a little wrong for my question. I'm hoping it's not needed so some unknown can log into my FTP?

I don't mind helping identify a bug/error, but I have no desire to let unknowns onto a server that I only maintain the UBB on.
