I swear I followed all the steps correctly.

Really.

I swear.

Okay, I made one tiny mistake (overwrote my templates @ my test site w/the new upgrade templates eek but I had backed them up -- so everything's cool laugh )

Here's the deal.

My regular board was UBB 6.1.0.3 (I believe)

I'm attempting to upgrade it to the 6.2.1.1

I uploaded all the regular .cgi files -- CHMODED them to 755; uploaded all the Module files

I uploaded all the new variable .cgi files AND the vars_wordlets_email.cgi -- chmoded them to 777

I then went to the template section and uploaded all the templates, the new graphics, and the .php files (are they supposed to be chmoded--the .php files?)

Long story short--I go to the upgrade your UBB in the Maintenance, and this is the lovely (well, NOT!) message I received:

quote:
Hack attempt logged or corrupt/altered member file found with extra fields. ('00000001')

So I did the steps I listed above--over.

Same deal.

I am going to try to redo the upgrade one more time -- cross my fingers and toes -- but in the meantime, if someone could give me an idea of how to fix the above so that I can upgrade--in case it does it to me again ... well, I'd greatly appreciate it! laugh

(mumbling to self ... I haven't even tried to install the hacks, and I'm already encountering problems! eek frown )

Okay ... I tried to upload once more ... still the same error message.

I do not want to delete that file--it's ME!

So I'm trying to reload my original board.

If that opens for me, I'll try again.

If there is anyone out there, I'd appreciate a little help. laugh

Yeah, LK (Thanks LK) bailed me out of the same bind. Get member file stripper from www.ubbcentral.com and follow th instructions in it, it will solve the problem of the extra fields.

Whew! After a marathon session, I have my board up and running ... but I gotta say this -- that accelerator ain't accelerating anything!

I never could get my host to set it up so that my test site would be able to run the accelerator.

Is there something I should be looking for to try to speed things up? The delay that I see comes when I go to the front page ...

Thanks.

You should reinstall hypercells wink

About the acceleration thing, try to use Allen's compression hack, posted in 6.1 forums.

You don't have to reinstall it, just change the "off color"s in the CP to your regular color (gray).

Don't make the opposite in the other side, as both alt colors are the same... So the off colors should be the same as the first colors - altcolumncolor1/2, and the on colors should be different. (that's what you did for the first one, but not for the second)

[edit: and your tutorial is very nice smile you should probably post that board in showcase forum]
