I am thinking about purchasing a UBB for my site, but I have been told that it would be very resource-intensive. According to Infopop's site, a UBB usually takes up about 50-100 MB just for a small community (I plan on having a small to moderate one.) My webhosting account has 100 MB on it, so I was wondering if Infopop's projected figure for the UBB is accurate. Also, approximately how much space does your UBB take up? Thanks in advance.

Are you sure that is an accurate figure? My forums have only 450 members, but 120k posts, taking up ~275 megs (w/ cache)
UBB.classic: Love it or hate it, it was mine.

If I buy a UBB, I plan to prune all topics that haven't had replies in 1-2 months, so do you think devoting about 50-60 MB to a small to moderate UBB community would be viable then?

It depends largely on whether you prune older topics. Also, it's very useful to have extra space for a test board and/or for making a temporary backup.
