Hi,
I installed the news fader with multihack (Whic is AWESOME) and I have an odd error. No doubt my fault but please help!
1. It will not change its size no matter what values I put in the width box. It forces my table to expand to atelast 800 I think even though I have it set for 700. I even tried radically lower settings but still no luck. I think a later hack may have trounced it.
2. Not important but the stats in teh fader dont work, they just come up blank.
I am using 6.3 and I really love this thing, thanks again!
Jason

Could be bugs. Maybe try a manual install.

You might check your permission settings on the news fader variable file as well, sounds like it is not writing to it.

Hey guys, I checked the variable file and it is writing to it. Here are the contents- (I deleted the news text to save space in the quote but it is working too. --------------------------- %vars_news_fader = ( q!nfwidth! => q!300!, q!nfspan! => q!8!, q!nfon! => q!ON!, q!nfgreet! => q!And now for the news....!, q!nfalign! => q!LEFT!, q!nftext! => q~, q!nfimg! => q!news.gif!, q!nfstats! => q!NONE!, q!nftitle! => q~OCS Foundation Latest News!~, q!nfimgon! => q!ON!, ); 1; ---------- I also manually edited this file to change the fader properties and it chenges the text in the fader but not the column size. Check it out - http://www.ocsfoundation.com/cgi-bin/ubb3/ultimatebb.cgi Thanks again for helping me, Jason

That's odd, but I suggest you not to use a pre-defined (700) width for your forums - try 90%. Then it will probably look better on normal computers (1024+)

True,
So that is the prob, the fixed width setting?
Thanks LK,
-Jason
-I will make some changed and try! Our stats though show that 50% use 800x600 still, 35% use 1042x768 and the rest use some other setting. That is why I have stuck to the 800 width so far. Most of our users are military and .. well .. you know. :-)

LK!
It worked, I tested it on my private board and one I used the % instead of a fixed width it worked fine. Guess I will stop taking the easy way out on design ;-)
Last thing, and idea on the stats in the fader, why they arent showing up? Not that important but very cool!
Thanks again,
Jason

I installed the news fader on my test board (6.3), and the only "issue" I have is that it doesn't show the stats (i.e. # of posts/topics).
This isn't a huge issue for me, but I was wondering what I should look for to fix it?

Any ideas on the stats problem? Is it only with 6.3?
Thanks!
