I thought it was just me, but a mod told me this today: quote: Jon, when I go to Gaming Sphere on my name it takes me to http://www.gamingsphere.comcgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi instead of http://www.gamingsphere.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi, in case you can't see, the slash after the com is missing, making it impossible to get on. So until it smooths out, i won't be on as much(since I have to get on my mom's name)
That's EXACTLY what's happening to me. But only sometimes, so it's unpredictable WHEN it's going to happen...Now, LD says he can't get to the UBB, getting a "Page Cannot be Found" message, sooo...Any suggestions?

I'm getting a page can't be displayed as well. I have never seen an error like what you're describing though.

Simply put, the mod and I are typing in the CORRECT address and then it will take out a slash...Trying to load the wrong address.

That's good. But see? It's unpredictable, so that makes it even worse, IMO. Anybody have a clue why?

It's weird now, it keeps pasting the address over and over when you try to go there. O_O

Well, for one thing there is an extra comma in the link in your first post. Anyone clicking on that link is going to get a page can't be found.

This is what I got as a reply from the host asking if anything was wrong on their end: quote: At times, the server may become somewhat overloaded but this would just cause an extreemly-occasional lag or somethign of the sort. There is nothing to say that the server should go down. I've noticed in my experiences that scripting sometimes also plays a role in pages randomly not appearing. Please advise.
Change hosts? Sounds like they kinda got stale on UBBs to me.

Fixed that, AND uninstalled all the hacks. No go.

Yeah, fixed that, it worked for me too, but I don't like it being that unstable. I'm interested in moving to digitalprinceton.net (the one GlassRattler and TheX are using for their websites), and I haven't heard ANY bad things about them. Already got an email from one of the guys there saying that they are happy to make custom plans and stuff.

I think you should, Netwerkin has been stable on that server for a long time.

Good choice, and Steve (the hosting owner) is all about UBB. His customer service is outstanding.

I agree, Steve is very helpful, ever other host I have used (5 others) have had a very hard time keeping up with my traffic, but so far I have had great luck with DP, I know Steve is getting ready to release some hosting packages just for us UBB guys.

Actually, he told me about that too in an email. But I can't really afford that, so he's working with a custom plan for me. These guys are very good.
Also, this is my first time to change hosts. What exactly do I do? Simple instructions would be nice. I think I know what to do, but I'm not totally sure...And want to confirm what I'm thinking is correct.

Sounds like a good Hoster. And the person actually cares unlike some hosts.

Yeah, sounds great.
But, that's not the point right now...Is something in the UBB script causing this? Or is it the server? What? It's gonna drive me crazy, the UBB hasn't had 1000 page views during July. O_O Not good...
